Frequently Asked Questions
Is ISOBLACE thermally or acoustically insulating?
Both! ISOBLACE has very high values in both thermal insulation and sound damping. So you don’t have to choose between one or the other; you enjoy both conveniences in one underfloor.
What is ISOBLACE made of?
ISOBLACE BASIC is made from the plastic TPE. Additionally, other ISOBLACE applications are possible in different materials, making ISOBLACE easily recyclable, even as an
integrated underfloor.
Is ISOBLACE sustainable?
Yes. ISOBLACE is largely made up of air. Relatively few raw materials are needed to produce it. After the floor's lifespan, the material can be easily recycled for a second life as an
ISOBLACE underfloor.
How does ISOBLACE work?
While traditional underfloors rely on mass insulation (thick layers of compact material), ISOBLACE relies on the insulating effect of air. It has air chambers in multiple layers and is
cleverly built with pressure points for minimal contact with the subfloor and top floor. This system gives ISOBLACE better insulating properties than traditional underfloors and takes up much less space. Because the floor is relatively thin, adjusting door and frame heights is not necessary.
